"RightNow is a fascinating place to work because of its unique contrasts. We are globally focused, yet headquartered in Bozeman. We build world class enterprise software, yet deliver it on demand. I think of it as best-in-class technology in an area known for best-in-class fly-fishing."
Although technology allows Laef to remain "online" even while floating the Yellowstone River, it is his passion for fly-fishing Montana's blue ribbon trout streams, snow skiing Bridger Mountain, camping in the wilderness and exploring "the last best place" with his family that keeps him working and playing hard.

"Too often companies make hollow promises to customers. It's a problem that's particularly endemic in the software industry but not at RightNow. Having spent my entire career in the software industry, it's refreshing to be part of a company that actually delivers immediate and future benefits to its customers. Putting the customer first is part of our DNA and is possible because we have great people concentrated on taking pride in their work."
Prior to his software career, Joe was a pro-soccer player in South Africa. Today, he maintains his interest in all sports; Joe is a keen golfer and has played many of the world's most famous golf courses. He and his wife are also season ticket holders for Stanford University's basketball and football teams.
